I have spent time in a mental health facility and it was an eye-opener. It was difficult in part because all of us patients were hurting in different ways. It was my first experience with depression and suicidal thoughts (made worse by insomnia). Due to what the workers had seen, not all were compassionate. It was a major struggle to get through, but with help I did.

Chris, this is one of your posts I love the most. So important. The church may be a bit better, but there are still a lot of misconceptions and wrong theology about mental illness. Thank you.
